Toronto Film Festival
Sep 07, 10:45 pm

I’m at the Toronto Film Festival right now.  I’m staying in the Westin on the 29th floor with a view looking out over Lake Ontario.  It’s so huge that you can see the curvature of the earth on the horizon, and it seems like I’m looking out over an ocean.  Wait.  Maybe not.  I think I see some mountains way off in the distance.  Too bad Rhoulette accidently stole my camera at PAX; otherwise I’d take pictures for you to see. ; )

I’m here showing off Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party.  I met Kate Hudson yesterday.  She’s just as hot in person… and tall! But then again, she did have some pretty big heels on.  Ubisoft is sponsoring a lounge where celebrities can come through and play the new Rayman on the Wii, as well as check out Kate Hudson’s new hair care line by David Babaii.  Kate mentioned how her son has a Wii.  She told how she and a friend picked it up to casually try Wii boxing, and ended up sweating and screaming at each other in a heated match.  Good stuff.

10% of all proceeds made by Kate Hudson’s hair care line are donated to WildAid, a wildlife fund focused on stopping the illegal trafficking of animals.  To help the effort, Ubisoft brought a Wii to Toronto and is having all the celebrities that come through sign it.  It’s going to be auctioned off, and the proceeds will be donated to the WildAid foundation.  Ubi’s cool like that.

Here’s a list of the celebrities that have signed the Wii so far:

  • Kate Hudson - actress
  • Petra Nemcova - model
  • Brad Pitt – I didn’t get to meet him.  His agent brought the Wii up to his room to sign it… I guess it’s difficult to go into public when you’re Brad Pitt.
  • David Babaii – the man behind the hair care products
  • Tim Robbins – I don’t get star struck, but meeting Tim Robbins was probably the closest I’ve come to it.  I had to bite my tongue so I wouldn’t bring up what a great movie Hudsucker Proxy was.

It’s pretty sweet being in Toronto, hanging with celebs and watching the white-sailed boats out on Lake Ontario.  But, truth is, I’m really looking forward to going home and getting back on Xbox Live to practice Rainbow Six.  (Reader: What?!) Yep, that’s right, I switched back to Rainbow.  Mischief, Brookelyn, SheDevil and I are teaming up to take on the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 competition at MLG Dallas.  Bring it on, boys!
