Uh oh. Mischief and Calyber road trip! Since MLG is in a week (wait. Less than a week!) and we want to place high in the Halo 3 tournament, Mischief and I are going to drive to Cali for a 3 day LAN party. Whooo! Well, I don’t know if it should really be called a party, since there won’t be much partying going on. I’m prepared for my eyeballs to hate me by the time we take top 8… we’re going to play THAT much.
I spent a good $1500 on fixing up my Jetta so that I know it’s in good shape for our trip to California. I got a new radiator, replaced my entire exhaust, and got my cigarette lighter power outlet fixed (actually, Dad did that one). But with Mischief in the car, the chances of something weird happening or having some freak accident is greatly increased. I wouldn’t be surprised if a small airplane crashed into our car as we’re driving down the highway, or a tiger escapes the zoo and mauls us as we’re filling up the gas tank.
Don’t worry though, I’ve taken precautionary measures to ensure that we’ll actually get to California. I stocked the back seat with an Xbox and small TV to keep Mischief out of trouble while we’re on the road. I also bought some pepper spray for the tiger, and a rabbit’s foot to counteract the airplane actually hitting the car – this way, it’ll at least hit the ground a couple hundred feet away from us.
Between rounds at MLG, we’re going to be hanging out in the GameStop booth where we’ll be showing off HAWX. I don’t know if I have some undiscovered love for flight combat games or if this one is just THAT good, but I’ve really been loving it. We’re going to be holding raffles for some sweet giveaways, like Seagate hard drives and other surprises. Be sure to stop by and check out the fun. If you’re not competing in any tournaments and you’re in the San Diego area, it’s good to know that spectators get in free. MLG is quite an experience.
With the sunshine and beaches of San Diego luring me out outdoors, it’s going to be difficult to not enjoy myself after the competition. I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures!
