Packed from wall to wall with human bodies navigating their way through the Javits Center in New York, Digital Life was a hot spot for gamers this past weekend. I had some time to explore and see the different booths, but found it soothing to come back to Ubisoft’s and throw down in Splinter Cell. I played the same multiplayer map about 50 times in those four days, and I can honestly say that I did not tire of it. I felt so content watching Sam Fisher sneak and climb around in that tight, black, defining spy suit (Mmmmm) that I would be satisfied if it was the only multiplayer map in the game.
Some other eye-catching games at Digital Life were RoboBlitz and Rainbow Six Vegas. In RoboBlitz, you play as Blitz, a small cute robot, who must activate a Space Cannon to save the world from Space Pirates. The game play is entirely driven by ragdoll physics and overall looks freakin’ sweet. Plus, it’s coming out for Xbox Live Arcade and I can tell you, it’s going to be a must-have.
In Rainbow Six Vegas you head the elite counter-terrorist group through missions. The game play is all about stealth, taking tactical action and hiding behind cover. You can repel down a fast rope, turn your body up-side-down, and shoot terrorists through windows. The graphics are super pretty and the game play is entirely too awesome for words. And if you shoot the slot machines, they sometimes shoot quarters out. Yay! Money!
Overall, Digital Life was a blast. Here’s some pictures to show-off our fun.
