Bungie Humpday Challenge
Dec 20, 7:07 am

Question: How many Bungie guys does it take to snipe the Frag Dolls?

Mischief, Pyra, Valkyrie and I got the chance to play in the latest Humpday Challenge against Bungie.  They gave us some solid competition and all in all we had a great time playing.

Best 2 of 3 maps…

The first game was Slayer on Isolation.  Their whole team camped bottom middle with rockets and shield regenerators.  I swear, every time I went down there to make an attack they’d throw down a shield regen and their impenetrable bodies would shake with laughter as they danced in the soft green radiance eminating from the ground.  Now that I think about it, I don’t think there was a single moment the entire game when they didn’t have a regen lighting up the area with a toxic glow.  They probably had some sort of mod that consistently dropped regenerators whenever the previous one ran out of juice… maybe it comes with the flaming helmet (which are amazing, I must say!).  But we saw past their infatuation with the shield regenerator and annoying camping strategy and won the match.

Here’s the Post Game Carnage Report for that round:

They attempted to defend their honor by calling us a “one trick pony"… sure I got most of the kills that game, but we all know that it’s a team effort, and I depend on the other girls for communication and firing support.  Oh, and trash-talking… <_< >_> <_< (shifty eyes… you see?  looking left and then right, then left again?  get it?)

The next game was Slayer on The Pit. It was neck and neck the entire game.  Bungie held the lead for most of the beginning, but we pulled ahead for a strong lead close to the end.  Again with the camping and the shooting and the Oi! (I know, I know… “It’s a legitimate strategy!”) They held down the area on their side of the map near rockets and invisibility with an unrelenting doggedness.  It wasn’t too difficult to make an organized attack on them and wipe out their team.  But for whatever reason, our team wasn’t able to hold position when they respawned.  In the end, we lost this match by an ugly 4 points.  After their victory, we could hear their coprophagous grins over our headsets.  Look it up.

Here’s Tom with the Post Game Carnage Report:

Tom: Thanks Calyber.  Caly, it looks like TJ Scoot is their team’s “one trick pony” this match.  An impressive +10 K/D ratio, not to mention having most kills and least deaths.  This is going to be a kid to watch out for later on in the season.  Back to you, Calyber, you hot little videogame vixen, you.

Calyber: Tom, what have I told you about that?

Tom: I apologize, Calyber.  Got a little carried away after seeing your second positive K/D ratio against the boys from Wedgie… I mean, Bungie.

Calyber: Just try to keep it professional, okay?  Anyhow, it surely was a heated game.  We were so close!

The last map was Snipers on Valhalla.  But it wasn’t just any sniper game type; this was a snipes only match.  There were no secondary weapons, no vehicles, and no other guns on the map.  Also, we had infinite ammo.  I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach as the game launched. Froman and New0001 hung out in the middle of the map and basically destroyed us.  Pyra’s our team sniper and she held her own, but the rest of us got pooped on.

So, to answer my initial question, it takes two.  Two to kill us while the other two hide… hahaha, I guess I don’t have much room to talk because I only got 4 kills that last match.  I’ve never been a sniper, but give me a shotgun and a BR and I’ll be the happiest girl in the world.  I’ll give the guys credit; they pulled off some effective teamwork and beat us.

I tried to use the ol’ “one more game for fun” trick, to get another shot at them, but they were wise and turned me down.

*sigh*

tragic… Now, if only we could get some of that Recon lovin’… : ) ; ) : ) (see the winky eyes there?  how they are open and then they wink and then they’re open again, like a flipbook but from left to right, not front to back, but also right to left, kinda like a winky palindrome...)
