Happy birthday to me last Friday (the 15th)! Um, I just want to point out that I didn’t get a birthday thread in the forum, but also that I’m ok with that. The only reason I point it out is because in the thread connected to this blog I want people to post things like, “Death to the Birthday-girl!” or “Berfdays are for loozerz” or “Grow up! …oh wait, you just did a little. I mean, grow down!” That’s all I want for my birthday… and the stuff I already got… which included tickets to see Nick Swardson’s stand-up at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland!
Hill-AIR-ee-yus! And I was right in the front row which makes for better visuals. I had to do face stretches after the show to get my cheek bones to calm down. A little later Nick and I went and hung in downtown Portland. We’re pretty much BFF now, as you can see from my photo-blog (pay no attention to our wardrobe, hairstyles, lighting differences or proportions):
Here’s Nick and I hanging out before the show in his green room. Bee-effin’-EFF!
We met up with Todd Glass at the Thirsty Lion Pub and yelled at him for a while. I can’t remember why we started yelling. It probably had something to do with his being 90% deaf.
They had one of those cheesy photo booths there, so we took a cheesy picture to cheese up the cheese with our cheeser-cheeseness. Cheese!
The night was winding down and I was about to leave when Nick suggested we cut a digital rug in a little DDR. I did right foot, he did left = Doubles DDR, or DDDDR as we dubbed it (the extra D is for “Danger!” which also happens to be Nick’s middle name, exclamation point and all).
Exhausted from the workout, we relaxed (and changed clothes) (again) for our “end of the night” picture. We got real friendly-like, squished our faces together and everything. This one’s a beauty of a gem of a keeper.
So, that was my birthday. And not one of you wanted me to have a happy one, but I SHOWED YOU! >
—Just kidding! Love you all! Thanks for all the emails and MySpace posts! Mwah!
“Party.”
