You’re Doing It Wrong!

For me gaming is my escape from the real world. It is how I relieve my stress and entertain myself, as it is with most people. However, the WAY I play is very…unique.

I begin typical night of Saints Row 2 (my current go-to game) in my swanky penthouse apartment filled with my homies and strippers.  I head to my garage and pick out one of my pimped-out rides and hit the streets of Stilwater. Some days I go to the mall and pick out new pasties, hotdog suits, and buttless chaps for my character. Other days I spend time doing some random Insurance Fraud activities, or seeing how fast and far I can drive into oncoming traffic.  Certain parts of town have the best cars to steal and I enjoy customizing them in the chop shop. My character has my black and pink hair and a few awesome tattoos to boot. I’ve only completed 17% of the missions for the game because I have way too much fun doing all of the random exploring in the open environment.

Some nights I crave a little more interaction, because not every building and character is accessible in SR2. That’s when I hit up Sims 3. I have both the 360 and PC version, and I definitely consider myself an addict. I have a few different games going, some following my Sim’s wishes and life path and others using money cheats and doing as much random stuff as possible. What, you mean it’s not normal for you to accidentally set your maid on fire and be haunted by her ghost? You’ve never been caught in the hot tub with the gardener? Here I was thinking these were normal occurrences! Next I’m going to see if I can go Octomom status and have a bajillion kids roaming around.

Now, when I’m feeling extra classy (cause face it, gangsters and Simlish get old) I pop in Fable 3. Where else can you herd chickens and practice pie making and still feel debonair?  I found myself a wife and bought us a house but she’s really quite annoying at times and kind of a pain to keep up with. I think I might divorce her and use the character creator to make a new wife. I shall name her Katy Perry.

The storyline and gameplay are great for all of these titles. However, there are times when my gaming needs to be strictly fun and entertaining and not all about campaigns, missions, and K/D ratios.  ☺
