A Weight Loss Project
Aug 31, 6:00 am

The time has come to take some action. I am tired of being over weight and have had a struggle with losing anything for a long time now. I literally gained 60 lbs when I got out of the army and got pregnant. Five kids and ten years later I have had enough! I have decided to start a weight loss project and I will be using Your Shape Fitness Evolved to whip my ass into shape. I always thought that having kids alone would keep me in shape from all the running around I have to do. Unfortunately, that is not the case. My goal is to lose 60 lbs by PAX Prime 2012! I will be updating my progress weekly with a blog and doing a monthly vlog. If you would like to follow along you can check out www.nerdygirlygamer.com for my blogs and videos or follow me on Twitter, Facebook, or YouTube.

I officially started working on my project Monday the 8th of August. I will be tracking weight, measurements, food and exercise every week.

Weight: *Right now I am setting my goal a little higher than I originally wanted. I am trying to be really realistic this time around and not be so hard on myself.

          • Start: 245.6
          • Current: 241.8
          • Goal: 180
          • Difference: 61.8

Measurements: * These are current measurements.

          • C:  47
          • A:  13 1/2
          • W:  42
          • H:  48
          • T:  28

Meals: * Now this is the same thing I eat every day. I know this might be a little off but I am really trying to be realistic and not put anything off limits. I just want to eat healthier and more times a day. Before I started this I was only eating Dinner and it consisted of whatever I was making for the kids. A lot of non healthy food packed with carbs and sugars. I had to literally re-think the way of eating. The kids are now eating better too.

Water:
     o 2 ltrs
Breakfast:
     o 1 egg
o 1 bowl of Kashi Honey Sunshine cereal
o 1 serving of 2% lactaid free milk
Snack:
o 1 Yoplait Light fat free yogurt
Lunch:
o 1 serving of Cottage Cheese
o Half a bagel with 1 serving of cream cheese
     o 1 serving of salad
o 1 serving of vinaigrette dressing
Snack:
o Fruit: Either 1 half of a cantaloupe or 1 serving of Pineapple.
Dinner:
o 1 serving of Fish or Chicken
     o 1 serving of Veggies
     o 1 serving of Fruit
Snack:
o 1 Jamba Juice Ice Cream bar.
Cheats:
o 1 Starbucks Frapp this week and snacked on a few ritz crackers.

Exercise: * I am using Your Shape Fitness Evolved on my xbox with Kinect and on the off days I am trying to get in a little walk time.  For YSFE I am doing the basic cardio routine with the personal trainer. I am probably going to purchase the Bollywood exercise pack next week. It looks like a lot of fun.

          • Monday: YSFE
          • Tuesday: Walk for 1 mile
          • Wednesday: YSFE
          • Thursday: Walk for 1 mile
          • Friday: YSFE
          • Saturday: Walk for 1 mile
          • Sunday: None

This week was really hard for me to keep up on the exercise. I missed a few days and hopefully next week I can get on a better schedule. Life seriously can be frustrating when you are trying to do something for yourself. I am always putting everyone else before me and I have let myself go. The kids will start school on September 1st so I will be able to have more free time to get the exercises done. I have already lost a little over 3 lbs this week due to my change in diet and actually drinking water now. I really hope that by putting this all out there and public that I can stick to my goals and not fail this time. To me failure is just giving up. I will NOT be giving up this time and even if I do have slip-ups or eat some M&M’s on occasion I am not going to beat myself up. This is a life change and it will take some time to get used to it.

Eat to live or live to eat?! That is the question.
