In previous blogs I have written about all forms of rage when it comes to gaming. And I put myself on the top of the frustration list when a game is not going my way. Lucky for me, I recently discovered a new game that puts my mind at ease. UNO!
A shocker, considering I’ve always titled myself as a hardcore FPS fan. There is just something about this game that’s so relaxing. How relaxing, you might ask? Well let’s just say I have ONLY won two games out of eighteen and haven’t destroyed the Xbox yet. I can’t believe it! I have found a game I can actually lose at over...and...over...and OVER and be perfectly content knowing I’m a loser.
Maybe this is because I keep telling myself it’s just a streak of bad luck and it will wear off eventually. I mean, the concept is simple: 4 vs. 4, 7 cards in hand, one card is placed in the middle and the next player either matches the color or number. The strategy doesn’t really go further than trying to sabotage a player’s chances of getting rid of all their cards and trying to win the game yourself.
This is why I’m convinced I’m just having bad luck. I can’t possibly believe I’m that much of an idiot that I’m being outwitted in UNO. I swear the three AI components I play against gang up on me. Sometimes they will bust out so many skip cards that one of them will say, “UNO!” before I get my chance to move. Regardless, the game is so much fun! It’s so simple. I can just lie in bed, listen to Howard Stern and play UNO. If you’re into arcades and haven’t yet downloaded UNO, I highly recommend it.
K… I’m off to get my ‘40 wins’ achievement. So you probably won’t see me for a year if my luck doesn’t turn around soon.
