Last time we recruited a new member we started accepting applications in August, and it took us until the following March to have our final audition with 8 candidates.  This time we started accepting applications in early July, closed the application process in early August, spent a super crazy hectic week sorting through too many solid applications from amazing gamer girls, and today we’re announcing our final 8 candidates!  Go to our Casting Call page to see who made the cut.

We’re not wasting any time.  These 8 gamers will be flown to Seattle NEXT WEEK for our final audition, which will be held at the Penny Arcade Expo.  I know, it sounds crazy.  Auditioning these candidates in the middle of one of the year’s biggest, craziest gaming events will be pure insanity! But that will at least be an accurate taste of what our Frag Doll life can be like at these events.

For those of you who will be attending PAX, you will see the candidates and Frag Dolls all over PAX--from the Ubisoft and Dell booths in the exhibit hall, to the tournament gaming area.  The candidates will be proving their dedication, knowledge, and gaming skills throughout the entire weekend.  But we specifically request that you all block off your event calendars for Sunday, August 26th from 3 to 4pm.  We will be in Satellite Theater B holding an interview panel for our candidates and we want you to come to help us ask them questions.  This panel interview will count towards the final decision about who becomes the next Frag Doll.

Thank you to all the girl gamers who applied.  We got applications from around the world from an outstanding cross-section of gamers which made our decision very hard.  But this also means that we couldn’t be more pleased with our finalists.  Good luck at PAX!
