ATI LAN in Dallas
Mar 07, 10:22 pm

The ATI LAN I recently attended in Dallas had to be one of the better events I have gotten the chance to work.  Valkyrie and I were sent there to showcase the game Brothers in Arms.  We had the biggest booth at the LAN; the setup was off the hook.  We had 8 large Love Sacs to sit on while playing the Xbox version of BIA.  And if you know me, Love Sacs are one of my favorite things in the world besides gaming itself.  I sat on those sacs all day long while surfing the net and playing with all the cool people I got to meet.

The greatest thing about the LAN was the fact it was in Texas, I felt like I was at a slumber party with my closest friends, even know I was meeting these people for the first time.  ATI had a crazy contest where people could win a new x850 ATI graphic card.  I have to say the rap contest (which my girl, Crystal won) was the most entertaining.  She ended up tying with some dude and they had to duel it out at the end by free-styling; she crushed his soul so hard.

After sitting there for 3 days watching everyone walk away with these awesome cards I finally decided to enter the last contest held.  We all had to find toilet paper and tear them in 3 perfectly square pieces without any rips.  When the announcer said, “GO!” we all ran to the restroom and started unrolling the toilet paper, just to found out that the paper was connected and didn’t have a pleat to separate it into pieces.  PWNED! You should of seen the look on all our faces, we felt like asses.  But that didn’t stop me.  I ran to the nearest store to find myself behind a little girl buying a ice cream using all pennies.  Just my luck!  Finally when I got back to the contest half a hour later, I was told they let some dude use scissors to cut the paper.  Can we say “Weak”!  Oh well, it was tons of fun and it made me feel like I was in Junior high all over again.

Now I’m looking forward to my next LAN.  Hopefully by then I will be good enough to compete in the tournaments and I wont have to convince PC gamers why Xbox is so much cooler.  Haaha. I would get the look of death when I would try to convince them of that.  It was all in fun though.  To all the great gamers I met last weekend, it was nice meeting you and I hope to be competing with you soon!
