Ask a Doll (2)!
Jul 05, 8:27 am

Over the years, there have been quite a few games cancelled - some that many people were itching play (such as Duke Nukem: Forever, Starcraft: Ghost and Warcraft: Adventures). What’s one cancelled game you would like to see brought back and finished?

Beyond Good and Evil.  It wasn’t cancelled but it got a bum rap.  The game was phenomenal but for whatever reason, somewhere in marketing, it got thrown on the back burner.  The game didn’t sell and is now out of print.  This makes me sad knowing so many people out there won’t get a chance to play it.

If you could remake any game at all - or even just have one with some ideas you thought should have been included originally, while remaining largely the same - what would it be?

It’s actually already happened.  Back in my old Rainbow Six 3 days, I would always imagine how much cooler this game would be if I could select any scope I wanted for any type of gun.  Rainbow Six Vegas now allows people to have that option.

Also, I have always wondered what Halo would be like with if Master Chief could lean.  I would imagine it would change the way you play the game completely.  It wouldn’t be so much run and gun.  It’s probably a horrible idea but it has crossed my mind more than a few times.

If you could be an animal what would you be and why?

Easy.  I would be a full-blooded Pomeranian - the real fluffy ones that you only see rich people carrying as if they were accessories.  This way, I know I would always be in good hands and not adopted by some dog abuser that only bought me to take their anger out on.  Yeah, I would have to wear B.S. clothing from time to time but it would be worth it, knowing that I would get to travel the world, have my own bed (probably my own room) and never have to eat dry dog food.

Why do ninjas and pirates have to fight all the time? Why can’t they just be friends and massacre us instead?

Because ninjas would never put themselves in the same class as dirty, one-eyed, rotten-toothed, smelly, old pirates.  It’s called PRIDE!  Owned.

OK, so you girls are pretty hot. Do you have plans to produce (or have you already produced) a calendar? Seriously, I really think it would sell well. I can see Calyber as a bunny in April, and Valkyrie in a red hat in December. Ooh, what about Rhoulette in Stars and Bars in July? Come on girls, it’ll sell well.

I’d do it as long as I could be April.

I have a question that might be something the Dolls could cover in an interview or series of posts on the site. I would like to know how people have felt about making their hobby (i.e., gaming) into their full-time job. Do you play as much as you used to? Has the line between work and leisure become less definite? When you do play, do you play for the sheer fun of it, or are you always still “working” (but still having fun)?

Ever since I became a Frag Doll, I play a lot less.  Something about being told when and what to play doesn’t make it as fun.  When I gamed in the past I would set personal gaming goals for myself, such as ratios.  I would be okay if I didn’t live up to my goal because I was only letting myself down.  Now, I feel like if I don’t do well I’m disappointing my team and an entire company. Plus, at times it seems like the whole world is looking at the Frag Dolls just waiting to report when we mess up.  Maybe it’s because I’m just a competitive person in nature I feel this way.

Neither my team nor Ubisoft ever actually says the pressure is on, but I still feel it. I guess I’m the one putting a bigger load on my back than necessary. I just want to make everyone happy.  I’m trying to teach myself how I can stop worrying about it and just have fun. I mean, I do play video games for crying out loud! It still beats any 9 to 5. This is why I will be a Frag Doll as long as I can. I don’t know how I will handle having to find a “real” job some day. :( Wish me luck with that one.
