Frag Dolls in Toronto - GRFS Launch and Beyond!
May 19, 9:00 am

One of the things I love about being a Frag Doll is getting to travel to places I wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to visit. In the past month or so, I've been to Boston, Miami, Los Angeles twice, and Toronto, Canada thanks to my job.
The best part about this trip was that not only did we get to attend a launch party where we unleashed our competitive side, we also had more free time during the day to explore a little bit of the city.

I brought my camera along with me on the trip, and Fidget equipped her trusty recorder so together, we have a bunch of moments to share during our adventures.

Here's is a video of the Epicness that took place at that launch party.
Fidget, Pixxel, Sabre, and SiREN with their competition at the GRFS Launch Party!

The winners of the Ghost Recon Future Soldier and AXE Canada Sweepstakes that were flown out to play against us during the launch event were such awesome guys to hang out with. Even after being defeated, they were great sports and truly enjoyed being there.

We had our gamefaces on as we also played against the devs of Ghost Recon Future Soldier that night.

While we didn't stray too far from the hotel, we were able to see a few sights and find some some entertaining things to do within walking distance.

CN Tower in Toronto
The CN Tower is seriously tall. Fun fact: It is the world's third-tallest free-standing tower.

We learned much in the art of crafting the perfect Pilsner thanks to our highly entertaining tour guide.

Boy Loves Girl - Does girl love game?
May 02, 9:00 am

I'm always up for checking out indie titles because, you never know, it may be the next hidden gem. When I was pinged about Boy Loves Girl, it was a game I had never heard of, but I decided to download it and give it a whirl.

"You must help Boy, the love-struck sweetheart, find all the cutest creatures in the world to satisfy Girl’s demands and win her love! Walk thousands of miles, collect stacks of stars, avoid tons of pesky clouds, save millions of smiles and carry the moon on a string in your chivalrous pursuit, surely that’ll capture Girl’s heart, right?"
Grubbyhands.com

The first thing one will probably notice about Boy Loves Girl is its unique art style. It isn't particularly ornate, but its hand drawn feel lends itself well to the whimsical atmosphere the game creates and runs at a very smooth framerate.
The backdrops look like images out of a story book and will take players through the hills, a desert, the "End of the World" and more.
Keeping in line with the romantic feel, the enemies faced in this game are clouds.
Yes. You read that right. Clouds.
But big, angry clouds... with rockets! And bombs!
Okay, it sounds strange in words, but it works well in gameplay. As players guide the moon safely across levels, they will be swiping up and down on their screen to avoid the different obstacles that the clouds present. Some will torpedo straight for you, others explode, and some will try to rain on your parade. So what's a Boy to do in this case? Tap and swipe away! When players are able to time certain actions correctly, they will have the chance to collect more smiles to help complete Star Challenges. Completing all three Star Challenges in a level will unlock special Bonus Stages on your journey to catch Girl.

Alright, so now that you know what to expect, you're probably thinking:

O_o

And probably wondering: Should I get this game?
Well here's the deal. The first thirteen levels of this game are available here so you can try it out for yourself.
Personally, as a hardcore gamer, I did not find these levels particularly challenging, but I do know the difficulty is supposed to ramp up towards the end. I'm currently in the middle of the game, and as more obstacles were introduced in the game, I will say it got more fun.
What I do see this game being great at, is being an introduction to non-gamers to lead them further into this realm. The mechanics are extremely simple and easy to grasp, and a mini-tutorial is given whenever new elements are introduced.
I also see Boy Loves Girl being a very cute gift for that special someone, or a game to just relax with after being amped up on a core game all day. Considering the full game is 99-cents and delivers over 50 levels, it's guaranteed you'll be able to get your money's worth.
